HISTORY & HERITAGE
Blends musical traditions from India, Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, Spain, Portugal, Latin America, and the American Southwest, creating a cinematic cross-cultural underscore.
A Christmas journey begins in Moscow, traveling by horse and sleigh across an increasingly severe winter landscape toward Tashkent. As the travelers move east, the music travels too—shifting from Eastern European influences toward Central Asian instruments and motifs, and ultimately reflecting on faith, culture, and the unexpected places where traditions can meet.
A journey through Uzbekistan begins with the sounds of a silk loom and distant chant, gradually gathering Central Asian instruments and rhythms as an unseen traveler moves toward the city. A nightclub encounter transforms the music into electronic dance rhythms while sounds from the earlier journey reappear—before a sudden fire turns the entire musical landscape into an overwhelming soundscape of confusion and disaster.
